Due to the continuous development of the performance of ultrasound equipment with better image quality, contrast – and spatial resolution, ultrasound is able to find even small invasive breast carcinomas. It is therefore an important tool for the early detection of breast cancer. This procedure is particularly recommended for younger women from the age of 30. From the age of 50, mammography should be performed in addition to breast sonography.
